Shanthi Bhavan, the joint venture of the Corporation of Cochin and Cultural Academy, functions as a Short Stay Home to lend a helping hand to women in distress and need. Facilities also include the provision of a safe and secure stay for women and girls below poverty line. Under the supervision of SAKHI, services of eminent psychiatrists, psychologists and psychotherapists’ occupational therapy, trauma healing, skill training and physiotherapy are provided for their physical and emotional restoration and rejuvenation. Opportunities are also provided for social interactions, creativity, self-help and occupational skills. Equipped with trained staff, the aim is to provide solace and comfort to women survivors, through rehabilitation and counseling. Awareness on legal literacy and women’s human rights are also imparted to prevent further victimization.


So far we were able to cover 10,992 victims of various abuse like domestic violence , trafficking..etc..


With the support of the Kerala State Social Justice Department, Cultural Academy for Peace has operated the Nirbhaya home serving Ernakulam district, Kerala for a period of 5 years. During these years, we have dealt with almost 130 cases at our Nirbhaya Home in Ernakulam.
