In a collaborative effort to enhance skills and promote financial independence through employment, the National NGO Confederation and the Cultural Academy for Peace organized a sewing machine distribution event for 70 women entrepreneurs. The event took place on Wednesday at 3 pm in the Shanthi Bhavan Auditorium. The inauguration was conducted by Mr. Joshy John, District Judge and Member Secretary of the Kerala State Legal Services Authority, who handed over the first sewing machine. Ms. Beena Sebastian, Chairperson of the Cultural Academy for Peace, delivered an address during the program.

Distinguished speakers at the event included Ms. Sheeba Lal, Chairperson of the Cochin Corporation Welfare Standing Committee; Advocate Rajendhran Nair, Chairman of the Ernakulam District NGO Confederation and Fr. Bino Nadackal SDB, Director of Snehabhavan Annexe. Following the speeches, the remaining sewing machines were distributed to the women entrepreneurs. Recipients of the machines shared their heartfelt responses, showcasing the impact of the initiative. Mrs. Bijini Lal, a beneficiary of the sewing machine, expressed that the machine has provided them with a second opportunity to enhance their lives. She extended her gratitude not just for herself, but also on behalf of the others who have received these sewing machines.
